CINDY HEAD

Cindy Head attended the University of Arkansas 1967-1970 and later Graduated at MSSU with a degree in Nursing. She has worked as an RN for Mercy (St. John’s) for over 30 years.

Cindy has been creating art for as long as she can remember, but it was only a few years ago that she began showing and selling her work, starting with the 2012 Joplin Third Thursday Art Walk. In the short period of time since, she has immersed herself into the local and regional art community. She just finished serving a two-year term on the board of Joplin Regional Artist Coalition and has exhibited all around the region.

Her painted works are big and bold with lots on small detail, with many inspired by her love of quilts and their historic patterns and history. She also has works inspired by her trip to Africa and her admiration for African art. One African-themed mixed media piece recently won an award at a show in Carthage.

Cindy’s mediums include Painting, Mixed Media, Fabric Arts, Jewelry, and Repurposing Furniture. Some of her work was featured in the March 2012 issue of Show Me The Ozarks magazine and in the April 2012 Issue of Joplin Metro magazine. She was selected for the SEK Art Fest (Street Art) in Pittsburg, Kansas in 2014.
