The Art of Colored Pencil Class

 

Wanting to learn basic techniques in using colored pencils? Come to The Art of Colored Pencils class, beginning Sat., Feb. 6, at the Rose Gallery of Fine Art.  This is a beginning class for anyone wanting to expand sketching styles, improve work in adult coloring books or just learn a new medium.  

 

Dustin Miller, art instructor at Neosho High School and Crowder College, will teach basic color theory and mixing, as well as sketching techniques that include layering, shading, burnishing and more.

 

Dates:  Every other Saturday beginning Feb. 6

Time:   10 a.m.- 11 a.m.

Place:   Rose Gallery of Fine Art, 508 N. Range Line

Cost:    $15 per session, plus the one-time cost of supplies

Ages:   18 and older

Richard Courtney

Local artist, Richard Courtney, who has been a children's book illustrator for most of his life, has contributed to many of the Thomas the Tank Engine (Train) books in recent years. 

Richard has many original art interior pages and proofs available for sale in the Gallery for many of his other books including books on dolphins, dinosaurs, trucks, trains, race cars, sharks and earthquakes. 

 

Richard will be happy to sign his illustrated books that you purchase
from the gallery.  He will sign them for a later pickup from customers.
